I’ve lived in Kansas City almost six years now and had never made it to the Plaza Art Fair until this past weekend.
It’s a little ironic – we love exploring new places and doing fun activities while we are traveling, but we have a hard time enjoying the city we actually live in. When we are home during a weekend, we try to check off our home improvement list and try to enjoy actually spending time in our own house.
Kansas City had gorgeous, sunny weather in the mid-seventies this past weekend. We strategically planned to stop by the Plaza Art Fair on Sunday when we were on our way home from the Midtown area. We arrived at the Plaza Art Fair at eleven o’clock when the vendors started to open for the day.
We were able to walk down all of the streets with vendors in about an hour, but you could spend a lot longer looking at all of the art if you took your time. There were also pockets of food vendors where you could try food from various Kansas City restaurants. We had leftovers at home so we didn’t get anything to eat.
In the future, I would love to go to the art fair at night with a group of friends and eat at the open seating spread out across the streets while enjoying one of the live band performances.
