Travel Themed Room
Posted by in BlogQuestion: How do I decorate a room in a travel theme?
Decorating a room in a travel theme is easy, especially for avid travelers that already have souvenirs that are probably sitting in a box somewhere in your attic (believe me, we are completely guilty of this). For our readers that don’t have an expansive souvenir collection, you can easily find travel themed decor. Here are some tips for designing a travel themed room:
1. Frame maps of the places you have visited. If you don’t have a a map, you can do an image search on the internet to find a map you can print and frame. Another option would be to visit a local bookstore or travel store and purchase interesting maps.
2. Decoupage maps, photos, and postcards to your walls.
3. Purchase and display globes on shelves or on tables.
4. Use vintage travel suitcases as end tables or to as a table support.
5. Display your travel souvenirs on shelves, tables, or glass cabinets. Group by the region the souvenirs are from for a more formal display, or display in groups of the same color, size, or shape.

Thanks for the input. I’m thinking about updating my bathroom to a jungle-monkey theme!
That sounds interesting. Send a pic when you’re done.
